Protein 'can help avoid hair loss'
Published: 24th of March 2010
Consuming sufficient levels of protein can help individuals reduce their risk of suffering hair loss, it has been suggested.Writing on Helium, Esther Jones noted that the substance is important in restoring the strength of locks.
As well as this, it can improve the growth of tresses, she claimed.
Ms Jones also pointed to vitamins as important in maintaining the health of hair, saying that they can be found in a variety of foods, including green leafy vegetables.
The writer stated that locks are important for women and are often considered to be their "crowning glory".
A number of factors can lead to hair loss, she added, including genetics, chemicals, poor diets and sickness.
Women who develop hormonal imbalances - such as polycystic ovary syndrome - can also experience a thinning of their locks, along with those who have hair extensions that are not done in a careful manner and therefore pull on follicles.
