When getting hair extensions 'people should be careful to avoid hair loss'

It is important that consumers keen to get hair extensions are careful otherwise they may end up suffering from hair loss, it has been noted.A Oneindia report pointed out that such cosmetic alterations can lead to baldness.
It stated: "Hair extensions attached too close to the scalp or to very few strands of hair can put great tension on follicles in the scalp [meaning] that they can become inflamed."
This can result in hair fall referred to as traction alopecia, it added.
According to the article, stylist Joseph Mourad has seen a rise in the number of clients wanting to get extensions.
The trend is growing popular because it enables people to have different looks in a short period of time, it went on to state.
Recently, the Trichological Society issued a warning over hair extensions, claiming that an increasing number of salons are offering to do extensions without having the necessary qualifications and knowledge.
