'Not just older men' who suffer from hair loss
Published: 3rd of March 2010
Hair loss is not only a concern of older men, it has been pointed out.An AsiaOne article notes that the "young and good looking" also shed their locks.
The new source pointed to a number of famous examples to illustrate this point, including Prince William, singer Will Young and actor Jude Law, who recently appeared in the new Sherlock Holmes movie.
According to dermatologist Dr Eileen Tan, hair loss may be on the rise among younger males.
The expert suggested that stress, poor eating habits, smoking and a lack of sleep may be factors contributing to the trend.
Dr Tan went on to suggest that there can be emotional side-effects resulting from baldness, with men fearing "the stigma of getting older and becoming boring, unmanly and lacking in sex appeal".
Along with peer pressure and a poor business image, these pressures are causing young men to turn to experts for help with baldness, she added.
