Woman undergoes treatment for hair loss
Published: 1st of March 2010
A woman who lost her hair as a result of an incident on a night out has had treatment to restore her locks.Teya Field, an office worker from Wiltshire, was attacked outside a nightclub in London and, as a result of being struck on the head by a bottle, she developed cicatricial alopecia, the Daily Mail reports.
At the time of the incident, she was not concerned about the bald patch because she assumed her hair would grow back.
However, after six weeks, she noticed that new tresses were not sprouting.
"At first, I thought I could just part my hair differently to cover it, but I kept noticing it in photos. It was a constant reminder of a horrible event," Ms Field stated.
In order to combat this, she recently had hair follicles taken from the back of her head and transplanted to the area affected.
Another hair loss sufferer in the news recently was comedian Matt Lucas, who lost his locks at the age of six.
