Nutrients 'can help reduce hair loss'

Published: 19th of February 2010
Nutrients `can help reduce hair loss` People keen to retain their locks may want to consider taking additional nutrients, it has been suggested.

Writing on Natural News.com, Melanie Grimes claimed that adding simple nutrients from food and vitamins can help to repair hair and regrow it, starting at the roots.

She commented: "Hair loss is a natural process that progresses with age, but many nutrients have been shown to improve circulation to the scalp [and] prevent hair thinning and hair loss."

While genetics plays a role in baldness, diet can delay or prevent it, she went on to state.

While treatments can be added in the form of hair masks and conditioners, the best results occur when nutrients are added to the diet, Ms Grimes advised.

Hair loss is a common phenomenon, with the most prevalent form in the UK known as male-pattern baldness - or its more scientific name of androgenic alopecia. This can affect both men and women.
