'Many men' cannot escape hair loss

Published: 16th of February 2010
`Many men` cannot escape hair loss Many men are unable to escape suffering from hair loss, it has been suggested.

According to an article in Northumberland Today, there can be genetic factors involved in the condition, meaning preventative action may prove ineffective.

This is not a reason to give up trying to protect ones locks, however.

The publication went on to state: "Hair loss can be forestalled by using appropriate products."

It went on to suggest that those keen to prevent their hair from falling out should avoid wearing baseball caps all the time.

Meanwhile, "you can also try food supplements designed for hair", it noted.

Hair loss is a common condition in the UK and the NHS suggests that the most prevalent form of the condition is male-pattern baldness or androgenic alopecia.

This can affect both men and women, it pointed out, adding that any type of hair loss can lead to problems with confidence and self-esteem.
