Good diet 'important to prevent hair loss'

Those keen to avoid hair loss should ensure they eat healthily, it has been claimed.According to Models Direct, a good diet is a crucial aspect of maintaining hair health, with iron and vitamin C cited as very important.
It said: "The growth, health and even loss of your hair are all influenced by your diet."
The organisation pointed out that good sources of iron include meat, liver, beans, nuts, whole grains and fortified breakfast cereals.
Also, green leafy vegetables such as curly kale are packed with the substance, it added.
Models Direct went on to suggest that other nutrients which are good for the hair include omega-3 oils, which are present in a range of foods such as oily fish and flaxseed.
The firm remarked: "At this time of year our hair really suffers and we need to take special care of it."
It is also known that getting enough protein as part of a healthy diet can help to prevent hair loss in both women and men.
