Published: 8th of February 2010
Hair loss has been described as a symptom of not getting enough sleep at night.According to Express Buzz, thinning hair is linked with severe sleep deprivation and a host of other serious illnesses.
The news provider noted that while moderate sleepiness is likely to only cause mild problems, such as a temporary loss of coordination for simple and complex tasks, insomnia can lead to heart disease and strokes.
People who constantly wake up while resting, feel tired during the day or take more than an hour to get to sleep may be at risk of developing hair loss and associated concerns, it added.
"Sleep is a natural state that promotes rest," the information source explained. "It acts like a shock-absorber, a natural cushion against stress and augments optimal health and well-being."
Writing in the Palm Beach Daily News, Carolyn Susman recently noted that hair loss is a huge self-esteem issue for most people that experience the ailment.
