Green tea 'may help prevent hair loss'
Published: 3rd of February 2010
Although people may be more accustomed to drinking the substance than applying it to their scalp, green tea can help people hold on to their locks, it has been claimed.Writing in the Daily Mail, expert Phillip Kingsley said that antioxidants in the beverage can help keep hair in good condition.
In addition, it can aid individuals who are beginning to lose their hair, he claimed.
According to Mr Kingsley, it blocks an enzyme which helps to convert testosterone into dihydrotestosterone, a chemical which encourages hair loss.
Meanwhile, also writing in the publication, TV personality Michael Winner revealed he uses beer each day on his locks in an attempt to keep them fuller.
He stated: "Hair is a diminishing asset. Most men start with it, then watch it deplete. It's a case of hair today and gone tomorrow."
Those keen to minimise hair loss should ensure they consume all the nutrients they need, including protein.
