Vitamins 'can help prevent hair loss'

It has been known for some time that ensuring a sufficient intake of certain substances, such as protein, can help prevent the loss of hair.Writing on Natural News.com, Melanie Grimes suggested that vitamins can also have this effect.
She claimed that vitamin E has been shown to help with the growth of hair, as well as helping people avoid shedding their locks.
"The exact mechanism is not known but vitamin E may prevent hair loss by the same mechanism that it prevents heart problems," she remarked.
Ms Grimes went on to state that the substance helps with the growth of capillaries.
When there are more blood vessels of this kind, circulation improves, she pointed out, adding that enhanced blood flow to the scalp can be a trigger for preventing hair from falling out.
As well as these effects, the substance can also help guard against split ends and can heal locks which have been damaged by excessive use of a hairdryer, she posited.
