Julie Walters shaves hair to simulate hair loss

Actress and comedian Julie Walters has discussed her latest role playing the late Labour MP Mo Mowlam.The star, who has appeared in films such as Educating Rita and The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, takes on the role of the politician in a new programme for Channel 4.
Entitled Mo, the drama is centred on Mowlam, who died of a brain tumour five years ago.
In order to copy the look of the MP, Walters had to shave her head except for a small strip at the back, the Sun reports.
Various wigs were then donned by the actress depicting the different stages of hair loss experienced by Mowlam as her illness progressed.
Speaking to the Radio Times, she said: "The strip of hair was white at one end and dark at the other. I looked like a badger. Or Harry Hill."
While she did not mind the look while she was at work, she became self-conscious at home and did not want her family to see her, she revealed.
