Those concerned with hair loss 'should ensure they have sufficient protein'
Published: 18th of January 2010
People concerned with remaining in good health, including those who are worried about hair loss, should ensure they get sufficient protein in their diets.Commenting on the topic in the Savannah Tribune, medical expert Carolyn Guilford said the substance is crucial for keeping people in good shape.
She remarked: "Protein in the diet is essential for maintaining the body's normal functions such as blood clotting, hormone production and function, synthesizing enzymes and maintaining the body's fluid balance."
It can be found in vegetables as well as meats and fish, she went on to state.
Ms Guilford pointed out that hair, as well as muscles, blood cells, skin and the immune system, all require protein in order to be regenerated.
Recently, scalpologist Kamini Jha also suggested that that people should ensure they have proper nutrition if they want their hair to remain healthy, particularly over the winter, the Hindu Times reported.
