Crash dieting bad for metabolism and hair?

Published: 14th of January 2010
Crash dieting bad for metabolism and hair? Going on crash diets is bad for people's health and, as well as potentially leading to hair loss, it harms the metabolism.

This is according to an EmpowHer blog post written by Mary Kyle, who said that gaining and losing weight quickly "plays havoc" on individuals' metabolisms.

Crash diets can also result in mental health problems such as mood swings and depression, she claimed.

Additionally, they "totally toast" people's nutritional levels, leaving them at risk of conditions such as iron deficiency, vitamin B12 deficiency, brittle bones and potassium and sodium deficiency.

Ms Kyle added: "The truth is that crash dieting and yo-yo dieting are not good for you and certainly not good for your ... health."

Recently, British Lion eggs revealed that one-tenth of people polled said they will occasionally skip a meal in order to shed pounds.

Such people may be increasing their chances of experiencing hair loss, as well as other health problems.
