Published: 6th of January 2010
The pattern of hair loss experienced by women is generally different to that encountered by men, it has been claimed. An article in Visit Bulgaria suggested that females who see a decrease in the amount of hair on their head often begin to get thinning out at the spot they part it.
This can be accompanied by a decline in the overall volume of hair, with severe cases seeing a large areas of the scalp affected.
It is pointed out that a number of treatments are available to those who wish to tackle hair loss problems.
Medication is one such option. For example, protein supplements can be used as this is a way of stimulating hair growth.
Visit Bulgaria drew attention to the fact that there are a number of triggers for hair thinning and loss, with hormone level changes being one.
Recently, Dr Debra Jaliman, dermatologist at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, suggested that people should not be surprised to experience a decline in their hair thickness as they age.
