Potential risk of hair loss as women plan to cut out meals
Published: 13th of November 2009
Women have been warned not to be tempted to resort to extreme dieting in order to lose weight in the run-up to Christmas.Research by British Lion eggs revealed that most begin preparing for the Christmas season on November 10th, but some could be risking their health.
One-tenth of respondents said they will occasionally skip a meal in order to shed pounds, something that could have a range of negative side effects.
Lack of nutrition caused by poor eating habits can lead to a number of problems, with hair loss being one of them.
And a British Lion spokesman noted that "simply cutting food out won't work".
"The best way to lose weight is to eat sensibly and have three balanced meals a day, particularly breakfast," he said.
Meanwhile, a study by Colman Brohan Davis has indicated that nutrition is becoming more of a priority for consumers, with many people checking labels for such details.
