Looking after locks suffering from hair loss
Published: 27th of July 2010
Those of us suffering from hair loss might like to try to keep our remaining locks in the best possible condition so as not to exacerbate the situation.According to a piece in the Dothan Eagle, inadequate maintenance of our tresses can often lead to thinning hair in and of itself, as can not fully protecting it from damaging elements such as the sun or chlorine in the water.
Although medical issues such as auto-immune disorder alopecia - which affects public figures such as Gail Porter and Miss Delaware Kayla Martell - and hormonal imbalances can inexorably lead to temporary baldness, shielding tresses may also be helpful.
Billy Holmes, owner of Snobs Salon in Dothan, suggested slicking some sunscreen through the roots to keep UV rays from leaving hair crispy.
Furthermore, pouring tap water on a coiffure before going swimming might also help chlorine and other chemicals from penetrating the follicles.
