Too much booze 'can result in hair loss'
Published: 12th of March 2010
Too much booze `can result in hair loss` A warning has been issued to women concerning the effect excessive drinking can have on their tresses.

According to a report in the Scottish Daily Record, too much alcohol can eventually result in hair loss.

In addition to the negative effect it can have on locks, a plethora of other symptoms were identified in the article.

Chief executive of Alcohol Focus Scotland Jack Law noted that many women are not aware of the damage they are doing to themselves.

He added: "They are putting themselves at risk of developing a range of medical conditions including high blood pressure, cancers and liver disease."

Women who drink too much are also more at risk of prematurely aged bad skin, dark circles around their eyes and bloating, it was stated.

Figures cited by Alcohol Focus Scotland suggest that alcohol problems cost Scotland around £3.65 billion per year in terms of the NHS, emergency services and other social costs.
