Balanced diet 'can help prevent hair loss'
Published: 10th of March 2010
Eating a diet that contains all the necessary nutrients is one way to reduce the risk of hair loss, it has been noted.Writing in the New Straits Times, Sushma Veera revealed that she began shedding her locks after having her second child.
She commented: "My friends consoled me saying that it will eventually stop after several months, but I am still not pleased to see strands of hair on the floor after my shower every day."
In a bid to tackle the problem, Ms Veera visited dietician Shanaz F H, who informed her that a balanced diet plays a big role in ensuring hair stays healthy.
As well as medical conditions and hormonal imbalances, a lack of proper sustenance can lead to people shedding their tresses, the expert claimed.
One aspect of food that is known to be important for hair is protein and those seeking to minimise hair fall are advised to make sure they have sufficient quantities of this in their diets.
