Women's hair loss more difficult to deal with than men's?
Published: 11th of January 2010
Women`s hair loss more difficult to deal with than men`s? It may be more difficult for women to deal with hair loss than their male counterparts, it has been claimed.

Writing in the Dearborn Press and Guide, Dr Michael Thibadeau from the Henry Ford Health System suggested that female hair loss has more significance placed on it.

He remarked: "It may be a more difficult adjustment for [women] because society places more value than it should on a woman's hair."

Dr Thibadeau went on to point out that female hair loss typically occurs as a thinning throughout the scalp, rather than a receding of their hairline.

Among the factors which can cause the problem are genetics, age and hormone levels.

In addition, stress can result in a loss of hair, the expert suggested. This typically sees locks come out in clumps while people are shampooing or brushing them.

Another thing that can cause hair to fall out is a lack of nutrition caused by poor eating habits.
