Hair loss sufferers could benefit as expert recommends protein-rich diet
Published: 19th of October 2009
The importance of including protein in a balanced diet has been highlighted by an expert.Writing for Visalia Times-Delta, fitness specialist Justin Levine explained that a number of steps can be taken to ensure a healthy lifestyle.
These included making sure protein forms a major part of the diet, as he stated: "Every time you put food in your mouth you need good quality protein."
Following the advice might help reduce the possibility of hair loss, as the lack of nutrition caused by a poor diet is known to play a part in thinning hair.
Mr Levine also recommended eating within 30 minutes of waking up in the morning, in addition to drinking at least two litres of water every day.
Earlier this month, good nutrition was highlighted as a way to help reduce the risk of male pattern baldness.
Kira Blair Mayo, writing for the Cavalier Daily, explained that hereditary factors play a major part in the development of the condition, but that it can be offset by eating well and using hair growth treatments.
